How do we evaluate the patient for surgery + HIPEC
Volume disease
- The success of treatment is determined by the complete removal of the tumor tissue, which is highly dependent on the volume and location of the disease.
- In order to measure the volume of the disease, the location and the predicted success are used peritoneal carcinomatosis index (PCI).
- We use a PET scan, computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Sometimes laparoscopy performed for more accurate evaluation.
Required documents
- To select the best treatment for each individual patient need the following data:
- History of present illness
- Summary of chemotherapy (medical history)
